Hair grows all over your body except the palms of your hands, soles of your feet and your lips.

Head lice can change colour to merge in with the hair they are hiding in.

Hookworms can infest people who walk barefoot. They bore through the skin of the feet and travel in the blood to the lungs, where they come out and crawl up to the throat, to be swallowed and start a new life in the gut.

Human hair grows about just over a centimetre (half an inch) a month.

If you could lay out all your blood vessels end to end they would go round the world over twice.

If you could line up all your blood cells all 25 billion of them they would go round the world four times.

If you never wear shoes, the skin on the soles of your feet eventually thickens and hardens so that you can walk over sharp stones without hurting yourself.

If you unravelled all the tiny tubes in your kidneys and laid them end to end, they would stretch 80 kilometres (50 miles).Yet they scrunch up to fit into kidneys only 10 centimetres (4 inches) long.
